for Sale Print Single-Page Save By CHRISTOPHER GRAY Published: September 25, 1994 This year Sotheby's International Realty began showing the 15,000-square-foot building to interested buyers at a price of $2.95 million. Robert Schulman, the broker handling the sale, said the building could be a small European-style hotel or be split into condominiums, although he said he saw it as "an extraordinary opportunity for a sizable private residence on one of the best blocks on the Upper West Side". Ms. Gilman says that the society will use the proceeds from the sale to move to modest offices. From that base it will concentrate on its scholarship and social service programs. The latter functions as an "extended family" for the 1,200 aged Swiss in the metropolitan area with limited incomes, coordinating government programs and health services.
